I am committed to creating a laboratory culture, research program, and classroom atmosphere that values diversity in background, perspective, and opportunity.
Research: Much of our current understanding of neural functioning is based on relatively high-status university students (e.g., higher income, higher parental education) that may not be representative of more diverse community samples. My lab uses diverse approaches and engages lived experience collaborators to better examine the complexity of disadvantage.
Training: As a first generation college student myself, I am passionate about furthering opportunities for individuals who identify as members of groups that are underrepresented in science. I have an established history of mentoring first generation college students, racial and ethnic minoritized students, women and those with non-cis gender identification.
Pronouns: She/her.
